Well, I'm a bit behind on Safety Month, but since every month should be Safety Month in the workshop, I'm going to share my favorite safety device to date: The Grip-Tite magnetic feather board. This little gem is the invention of Jerry Jaksha, a hobbyist woodworker like you and me who was willing to go through the hell that it takes to turn a great idea into a real product.

If you want to learn more about safety, there's lots of excellent books and courses you can pay for. But why spend your own hard-earned dollars twice... your friendly federal government has spent the money already!

When you're adjusting your tablesaw fence, it's common practice to have it slant ever-so-slightly away from the sawblade. If you do this, don't move the fence to the opposite side of the blade!

I grabbed a big crescent wrench to get some more leverage. As I was tightening it, the wrench slipped off and my fingernail slammed into the neighboring pipe clamp.
