Life at Harvey Mudd College, 1993-1997

I graduated from Harvey Mudd College with a degree in Engineering and a concentration in Political Science in 1997. That was one of  the less interesting features of my tenure at that school--and not that the study of engineering wasn't scintillating; just that it had a lot of competition. Dan gets his diploma
Final days of academia

Harvey Mudd residential life was primarily centered around the dormitories.  I percolated through three of them in my time. First was South Dorm, where I was initially placed as a freshman. Then came East Dorm, the only place I could get a hall of single rooms with my friends.  Finally came Case Dorm, where about 25 of my dearest friends took over an entire wing of the building.

Summers I worked at Leupold and Stevens designing a document management system. Here you can find my business card from those days, plus a short video of Richard Makahon, Kathy Blakeman, Andy O'Brien, and Dan Zeazas. My boss and mentor, Wayne Wakeland, is notably absent.   Mak getting crazy

Outside of academics, I probably spent more time on my hobby/job then anything else.  My friend Jeremy and I started designing laser shows, which grew into a DJ/lighting business that kept us both busy every weekend and quite a few weekdays as well.  We called ourselves "Lasers by Fifi" because of a rather embarrassing misunderstanding.

My dearest friend since high school, Anh, got me some the mother of all birthday presents one year--backstage passes to the HORDE festival.  And this was one of the good ones, with Lenny Kravitz, Rusted Root, Dave Matthews Band, and Blues Traveller.

Finally, we were occasionally called upon to do party production and planning for purposes other then commercial--our annual party, Sensory Overload. Lake Sensory Overload
