This is the lake I designed for the Sensory Overload party my friends and I threw our senior year (the last of three) Although it's only open to Mudd students and their invited guests, we had well over 400 attendees; not bad for a school of 650. What you are actually seeing is a honest-to-goodness 30,000 cubic foot of water lake that we built out of a basketball court, with an island dance floor and marble bridge.  And yes, it really was that blue. We dyed the water with invisible blue dye, which glows bright blue under blacklights (we had ten 48" blacklight tubes--you can see two of them in the center of this picture) but is completely clear in normal lighting.

The "Wheel of Drink" was a popular indulgence for partygoers.  Also pictured is the vodka-infused watermelon, being tended by Kevin Smith (left) and Russ Nelson (right). Not pictured are the two-story five-foot-wide glowing waterfall crashing into the lake, the four laser shows, the espresso bar, or the Thomas Kemper Rootbeer Float Bar.

Below are the small versions of the party posters; click on any of them to see the very large versions (with the jokes explained, sort of).
